Canteen

St Joseph’s provides an efficient and effective school canteen to meet the needs of the school community. Open every day (Tuesday – Friday) for lunch and recess, the canteen provides a selection of fresh and healthy food choices at an affordable price. The diverse range of food offered and an efficient service are only possible due to our canteen supervisor, Mrs Amanda Collis as well as the voluntary help from parents, friends and relatives of students. Prices are kept to the bare minimum as the canteen is viewed as a service and does not make a profit.

St Joseph’s Canteen follows The Healthy Food Strategy that is being trailed in all NSW School Canteens. The Australian Dietary Guidelines and the national labelling system that provides Health Star Ratings (HSRs) on the front of packaged food and drinks forms the basis of the minimum food and drink criteria for the revised Healthy School Canteen Strategy.

There are only two food categories

  • Everyday
  • Occasional food and drinks

Sugary drinks are not sold at St Joseph’s Primary School canteen.

Canteen is available at recess and lunch. Students can purchase food at the recess and lunch break.
